De septiembre de 1958 (Oviedo) a septiembre de 1981 (Bilbao) se mantuvo en el repertorio de Alfredo Kraus la obra de G. Bizet, "Los pescadores de perlas".
Es esta, una obra que no goza de toda la popularidad que otras muchas y sin embargo en su "interior" acoge una de las romanzas mas hermosas jamás escritas para un tenor. Sólo por dicho fragmento, bien cantado claro está, merece la pena escuchar la obra entera.
Entre todas estas representaciones, se produjo en 1970 una Gala televisiva en la ciudad de Múnich y nuestro tenor participó en la misma, con sendos fragmentos de Nadir, la romanza anteriormente citada"Je crois entendre encore" y el dúo "Au fond du temple" con el barítono Barry McDaniel.

My mothertongue is German. Isn't the German audience at this Gala absolutely awful? They ought to give Kraus and McDaniel riproaring standing ovations and what do they do instead c l a p . . . c l a p . . . c l a p . . .
